COME ROCK with us
In one week, campers form a band, write an original song, and participate in workshops along the way. These camps occur at UNCC's Dubois Center in Uptown Charlotte with the Kids Camp final concert performance at the DuBois Center and the Teen Camp Concert final performance at Heist Brewery.
Summer camp registration opens in January. Our camps fill up quickly, so early registration is strongly encouraged (most camps are full by March or April). We also reserve up to half of our camp spots for families applying for scholarships and tuition assistance.
camp program & mission
At We Rock Charlotte, campers learn much more than how to rock!
Our summer camp curriculum teaches these diverse individuals to learn, create, and collaborate through musical exploration. We provide lessons, workshops, and activities that build allyship and empower campers to find their voice.
This community is a safe space for campers to explore and affirm their identities, using positive and inclusive language across all genders, races, ethnicities, socio-economic levels, immigration statuses, abilities (physical, cognitive and mental), and more.
By uniting musical education with social justice programs, We Rock Charlotte teaches campers to stand up for themselves and each other as artists, activists, and allies.
We invite all girls, gender diverse youth and allies to make disruptive change and rock with us!
Camp Schedule
Camp schedule is changing in 2025. New times will be announced in January 2025.
Experience & Instruments
Don't know how to rock? That's okay!
Musical experience is not required. In fact, many of our campers learn to play an instrument for the first time at our summer camp.
We provide each camper with all the instruments they will need, but they are also welcome to bring their own instrument. Please note that We Rock Charlotte is not reponsible for any loss or damage to the camper's own instrument or gear.
Camp location
Our 2025 Camp location is held at UNCC's Debois Center in Uptown Charlotte with final concerts at the Dubois Center and Heist Brewery at Camp North End.
